I like the idea of issuing permits. They could also designate the playground and picnic areas as "No Dog" areas for the safety of children, and keep dogs limited to the walking path only.
Yes, if they are careful about leashes and don't knowing bring aggressive dogs and clean up after them. They could designate certain days or times when owners can bring them, then those who are afraid of dogs can plan accordingly. They could require permits for the pets to be in the park too, then if a pet gets into trouble and gets reported they lose their permit and park privileges. Saw a case on TV about that once and thought it was a good idea.

I say NO, they let there Dogs run lose and they chase the animals in the park. We do have a Dog Park. KEEP THEM OUT OF OAK PARK!

I don't mind the dogs in the park. It's the boneheads that don't clean up after them that should be kept out.
