I don't support animal cruelty either, but what tougher laws does one want? Laws don't stop behavior.

For the record, I don't support abortion. Nor do I support animal cruelty.

How many of you who want tougher laws for animal cruelty also support abortion?

And if he didn't ask then he too would go to jail.. That's why we don't want to see more idiotic laws that cannot tell the difference between poor and wrong..

The difference, OldDog, is that I would hope the elderly gentleman would admit that he can't afford dog food and ask for some help. I, for one, would never want to see my dog go hungry.

Sonntasg the problem is no one can define animal cruelty without wanting to give them rights and probably marriage license.. People get so carried away with laws you cannot trust them anymore. How do you distinguish between a senior who cannot afford dog food and his dog gets thin and a guy who actually withholds food from his dog? Do they both go to jail? You see this country cannot find a happy balance on anything. Give them an inch and they take a mile and then there is PETA and others who want the dogs to have the same rights as a human being..

How can anybody say no to tougher Laws against animal cruelty? Does this mean that everybody who says no is a person who has to torture an animal to feel superior for a little while and to build up their low self-esteem? Are you making up for any short comings?
